Tasting notes

The cacao originates from Madagascar, valued worldwide for its unique flavour notes. From the first bite you are met with a lovely acidity and the taste of bright red berry fruit and citrus. AS it melts it transforms into a rich long chocolate finish.

The Great Taste Awards judges said:

Excellent aroma, and the texture has a perfect snap and very good mouth feel. A pleasant fruity aroma and a great melt. There is bright citrus acidity, balanced by a modicum of bitterness and a good sugar level. There is a good complexity of flavour here. A good, lingering finish.

Origin

We work with cooperatives certified by Fairtrade including:
Acopagro, El Quinacho, Cacvra and Oro Verde in Peru, Fundopo in The Dominican Republic, Cocabo in Panama and Cooperative Premium Cacao Sambirano CPCS in Madagascar for our cacao.

Our cacao is bought directly from the Fairtrade certified cooperatives.

The cacao in this bar comes from Madagascar.

The cane sugar comes from Asocace in Paraguay and Apoya in Costa Rica and the Bourbon vanilla comes from Komam and Cooppvm in Madagascar.
